Paul Aasmundstad is Data Governance Director at Athene where he is responsible for targeting and raising data management maturity levels. Paul is an experienced data professional and IT leader, with 25+ years’ experience across a range of industries and company size. Prior to joining Athene, Paul served as Data Governance IT Audit Manager at Wells Fargo, where he was technical subject matter expert for Wells Fargo Audit Services and influenced audit strategy for data governance. Previously, Paul spent eight years in data architecture and IT management at Emerson Process Management, where he led the design, build, and operations of global data systems.
Paul received his BA from the University of Iowa, and MS Data Analytics and MBA Business Intelligence from Southern New Hampshire University, where he was named Outstanding Student in both programs. He is contemplating whether to continue the journey to a PhD.
Ken Crider is the Manager of Data Architecture at ARAG legal, a legal insurance company. Ken is responsible for driving consistent and scalable data architecture throughout the organization. He oversees ARAG’s data governance and data management functions. Prior to his current role, he was a data architect at Wellmark supporting their MDM and reference data management initiatives. Ken graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College and received his MBA in Technology and Information Management from Iowa State University.
Daniel Goodwin is the Director of Strategic Data at INTL FCStone Inc, a diversified financial services firm. He oversees FCStone’s Master Data Management, Data Governance and Referential Data enterprise initiatives. Prior to his current role, he led the firm’s Global Regulatory Reporting practices under Dodd-Frank, EMIR and Canadian Provincial listed and bilateral derivative reporting. Daniel’s professional background has been primarily around Business Analysis in the insurance and financial industries. Daniel was a former licensed Property & Casualty agent in the state of Iowa and graduated with a degree in theology.
Greg Mehrl is a Software Architect in the Marketer Services department at Principal Financial Group. In his current role his is the lead architect on the implementation of PFG’s Master Data Management solution where they are replacing a home grown MDM with Informatica’s MDM. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a major in Mathematics and Computer Science.
Cort Pahl has worked at Principal Financial Group for 29 years, working in various data management related roles. His experience includes data warehouse solutions, OLAP, ETL, and data modeling over many years of his career. More recently, he has worked in the role as data architect, focusing on Master Data Management solutions, among other things.
