Intentionally Changing Organizational Culture

DESCRIPTION:

Culture is an organization’s basic personality, the essence of how its people behave, interact, and work. Changing culture is a daunting task but, for an organization to be effective, leaders must align their cultures to the organization’s mission and goals. Join Drake University Chief Information Technology Officer, Chris Gill, on a journey through his experiences shaping culture at two higher education institutions and learn about his ten steps to changing organization culture (with a heavy emphasis on using data to ensure accountability).

Parking:
From the North: Take I- 35 South to I- 80, Turn west on I- 80/35. Take I- 80/35 to exit 124 (University Avenue). Turn right on University (100 yards). Turn left at the first traffic light.
From the Northwest: Take Highway 141 to Southbound 1- 80/35. Take exit 124 (University Avenue). Turn right on University (100 yards). Turn left at the first traffic light.
From the East: Take I- 80 westbound to the west side of Des Moines. Take exit 124 (University Avenue). Turn right on University (100 yards). Turn left at the first traffic light.
From the South: Take I- 35 to exit 124 (University Avenue). Turn left (west) on University Avenue. Turn left at the second traffic light.
From the West: Take I- 80 eastbound, as I- 80 starts to go north, take exit 124 (University Avenue). Turn left (west) on University Avenue. Turn left at the second traffic light.
Park in the Visitor Parking areas north and east of the main entrance. Enter the buildings at the main entrance (by the United States flag and Farm Bureau flag). Report to the security station for directions to the meeting room.
