    DESCRIPTION:
Wellmark Technology has been working on the delivery of an R/Aster integrated platform for the past 9 months to provide our Business Insights team the ability to use R for analytics.

While we have SAS Enterprise Guide, our analysts have asked to use other tools, including R and Python. We agreed to look at implementing R on Aster, which then led the team to be able to leverage the functionality of RStudio to the Aster environment. Wellmark has made some good progress on the components of legal, data security and infrastructure, we are finding a number of challenges in being able to successfully connect and work with the R components.

Our goal from this workshop would:

    • Share wins and discuss the opportunities that other organizations have discovered with the R platform
    • Share best practices
    • Discuss where we see these tools impacting our organization’s future analytic needs.

    PRESENTER:
Mary Fagan is the Information Delivery Technical Lead at Wellmark on the Enterprise Data Management team. She has 10 years in a technical lead/architect role, as well as extensive experience in application and BI development. Current work is focused as a liaison role with business analytic teams for supporting reporting and analytic tool strategies and optimization of data consumption
